A bit about us…

Our editorial team

Strangers was started by a group of friends in their twenties who wanted to help young people to be passionate in their faith and lay down their lives for Jesus. Currently, Juliette sources most of the content, while Carolina provides edits and feedback. Gabriel is involved in the administration, and Connor does the beautiful graphic design.

Our beliefs and values

As a team, we come from a variety of backgrounds, and are not affiliated with a particular church, movement or denomination. Our content largely focuses what it looks like to live out the Bible in a practical, day-to-day sense, rather than on theological issues.

Our values are:

Submission to the Holy Spirit. As a publication, we strive to seek God’s will and submit to His guidance. We also encourage our contributors to pray and seek God’s direction on what they should write.

The centrality of scripture. We strive to produce content that engages faithfully with scripture, and does not contradict the Bible in any way.

Experience comes first. We ask that our contributors write about things that God has taught them personally and that they have been able to put into practice in their own life, before they teach others. As a team, we strive to hold ourselves to this standard also.

Honesty and humility. We acknowledge that as a team, we are continually learning and that we only hold a small part of the knowledge of the body of Christ.

Love. We aim to build up and encourage the body of Christ in what we produce, not tear it down. This includes not criticising particular denominations, Christian leaders, or Christian practices, or writing in a way that fuels pride and division.

Fear of the Lord, not fear of man. We aim first and foremost to please God in what we produce and publish.

Bring people closer to Jesus. As a publication that is focused on discipleship, we aim to help people to grow in their love for Jesus and to learn to lay down their lives for Him. As a team, we acknowledge that our own personal relationship with Jesus has priority over any ministry we may do.
